We are seeking a versatile, strategic, and approachable HR Generalist to serve as the cornerstone of our event-based human resources operations. In this role, you will manage the full employee lifecycle for our temporary event teams, balancing high-volume recruitment with ongoing employee relations, payroll support, and performance management. If you possess a broad understanding of HR best practices, the ability to thrive in the fast-paced, often unpredictable environment of large-scale events, and a passion for supporting a diverse workforce, this is a pivotal opportunity to drive the operational excellence of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruitment & Staffing: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for event personnel, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding, ensuring all teams are fully staffed with high-quality talent.
Employee Relations & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries, conflict resolution, and grievances, fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure all HR practices, documentation, and personnel files strictly adhere to local labor laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
Performance Management: Support department heads in conducting performance feedback loops, coaching, and disciplinary actions to maintain professional standards during event cycles.
Payroll & Benefits Administration: Coordinate with the payroll department to ensure accurate timekeeping, wage processing, and benefits administration for temporary and seasonal staff.
Training & Development: Design and deliver onboarding programs, safety briefings, and role-specific training sessions to equip staff for success in dynamic event environments.
Strategic HR Operations: Analyze workforce data (e.g., turnover rates, engagement scores) to provide management with actionable insights for improving staffing efficiency and organizational morale.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM-CP or PHR certification is highly preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator, with demonstrated expertise in managing temporary or seasonal workforces.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, BambooHR) and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Expertise in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, specifically for reporting and documentation.
Strong aptitude for labor law compliance, particularly in the context of event and hospitality staffing.
Personal Attributes:
High Emotional Intelligence: Ability to handle sensitive employee situations with empathy, confidentiality, and professional neutrality.
Problem-Solving Agility: Capacity to remain calm and decisive when managing unforeseen staffing shortages or complex personnel disputes.
Organizational Savvy: Ability to manage multiple HR streams (recruitment, payroll, compliance) simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, capable of bridging the gap between management goals and staff needs.
