We are seeking a systematic, detail-oriented, and dependable Receiving Clerk to manage the arrival and documentation of all incoming inventory. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our warehouse, responsible for verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for quality, and ensuring that all items are correctly processed and staged for storage. If you possess a strong understanding of supply chain workflows, the ability to manage high-volume logistics with precision, and a commitment to operational integrity, this is an outstanding opportunity to support our supply chain accuracy and maintain efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment Verification: Unload incoming shipments, inspect packages for external damage, and reconcile delivered items against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy.
Discrepancy Reporting: Identify and document any damages, shortages, or overages immediately upon arrival, coordinating with procurement or suppliers to resolve issues.
Inventory Processing: Accurately log received goods into our inventory management system (WMS/ERP), applying barcodes or tracking labels as required for efficient storage.
Staging & Distribution: Ensure incoming goods are properly sorted and moved to the correct warehouse locations, facilitating a seamless handoff to the inventory or production teams.
Documentation & Records: Maintain meticulous digital and physical records of all incoming shipments, including Bills of Lading (BOL), receiving reports, and damage claims.
Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving dock, ensuring compliance with all company safety protocols and workplace health standards.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with logistics partners, delivery drivers, and internal departments to keep everyone updated on incoming order status and transit delays.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in using inventory management systems (IMS) and barcode scanning technology.
Ability to interpret complex shipping manifests, purchase orders, and technical specs.
Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks).
Personal Attributes:
Meticulous Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in counts or item specifications before goods enter inventory.
Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of receiving, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Time Management: Ability to manage high volumes of incoming deliveries, especially during peak operational hours.
Proactive Communication: Ability to alert stakeholders promptly when supply chain issues or shipping errors arise.
